A Sash Fillester Plane by Greenslade of Bristol. Also Noted on the Toe "Exhibition Medals London, Dublin, Paris, Melbourne". Beech wood with brass attachments and boxwood wedges. Fully boxed base attached with two fine dovetails. This plane is very unusual in that when the depth stop attachment screw is tight it locks any movement of the depth stop. Similar American planes and plow planes frequently have a separate brass wing nut on the side of the plane body that performs this task. May never have been used. Click on the large image.
